Piazza delle Erbe The Vegetable Square La piazza, detta anticamente "della biada" e successivamente "del vino", ospita oggi uno dei più caratteristici ed allegri mercati della città. Bancarelle in legno su ruote sono portate ogni giorno sul selciato in trachite della Piazza (levà) e ricoverati a fine giornata negli "stalli" del ghetto di S. Urbano o di Via Soncin. Sulla testata est della levà nel 1930 è stata collocata una fontana, opera di Tullio Paoletti. Vi si trovano numerosi banchetti di frutta e verdura fresca , granaglie e fiori. Anciently called Forage and then Wine square, it houses one of the more typical and pleasant market in town. Several wooden stalls and wheelbarrows, full charged with fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers, corn, are carried every day on this square and sheltered, during the night, in the close St. Urban’s ghetto or Soncin street. A fountain by Tullio Paoletti was placed on the eastern part of the levà – the trachytic pavement of the market – in 1930.
